In 1986, Uwe Nickel launched his career at the former Cassella AG in Frankfurt, Germany where he held several management positions in R&D, Production and the Corporate Center.
In 1996, he was appointed Vice President and member of the Management Committee of the Division Surfactants and Auxilliaries of former Hoechst AG, Germany and took responsibility of Business Process Excellence.
In 1997, he joined Speciality Company Clariant International in Switzerland and became global Product Manager for Azo-Pigments. In 2001 he was appointed Vice President of Division Pigments and Additives responsible for Production, Technology, Research and Development and Supply Chain Management.
In 2003, he was appointed Member of the Board of Management of Clariant International and responsible for the Pigments& Additives Division and the Group Site optimization project.
In 2008 he joined Management Consulting Arthur D. Little in Switzerland and Germany with global responsible for Chemicals, Agro and Pharmaceuticals.
In 2011 Uwe Nickel was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the HCS Group, Germany. HCS Group is a global producer of Speciality Hydrocarbon solvents and formulations and blends.
Since 2005 he has held several mandates in Chemical and Business Associations and as Advisory Board member.
Uwe Nickel was born 1958 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt in 1986. He is married and has 4 children.
