John Brantley is the General Manager for IBM's Global Chemicals and Petroleum. In this role, Mr. Brantley is responsible for managing the global portfolio of clients across all these industries. He is also responsible for the design, development and delivery of industry specific solutions that are based on advanced research & development concepts and integrate IBM’s cognitive, cloud, analytics, blockchain, mobile and social offerings.
A strong believer in collaboration as the path to innovation, Mr. Brantley has reached out to business partners and clients alike to design and develop the next evolution of industry specific solutions that address these industry’s most challenging issues including profitable exploration, integrated operations, asset management and production design and scheduling.
In addition to his General Manager responsibilities, Mr. Brantley serves on IBM’s Energy & Environment board, a senior level executive team defining and directing IBM’s go-to-market strategy and initiatives for solutions that address the growing energy & environment concerns of our clients across all industries.
John was appointed in 2008 to the IBM Growth & Transformation Team, this team of 300 executives work together to address important cross-company growth and transformation opportunities to advance IBM's growth agenda.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Brantley has held a number of senior positions at IBM including, WW Vice President, BladeCenter Sales, Systems Group; NA Vice President, Direct Marketing; and Americas Vice President of Integrated Marketing Communications. Along with his global travel for his different positions, Mr Brantley lived in China for three years.
Mr. Brantley received his BA in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.
