William Chen is responsible for the China light olefins and C4 olefins/elastomers Market Advisory Services for IHS Markit Chemical.
William has nearly 15 years experience including 7 years relevant industry experience at research institute and chemical producer and 6 years consulting experience at IHS Markit by 2018. He regularly provides key inputs of short-term & long-term product market services, commentary and analysis to the weekly report Asia C4s Olefins and Elastomers and monthly report Global C4 Olefins & Elastomers, as well as the World Butadiene Analysis. Since 2014, William has covered China light olefins. Develop and enhance models for product supply/demand, pricing, economic analysis and sensitivities. In addition to the regular weekly/monthly/annual input, William has been involved in many single-client consulting projects and multi-client studies including China PDH study/China Coal Chemical Study/China Environmental study.
Chen earned Ph.D from Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prior to joining IHS Markit, William worked for Chinese Academy of Sciences as project manager and Chemchina/Bluestar an engineer, technical manager and sales manager.
