Dr. Dahai Yu has been Operating Partner, Advent International and Managing Director of Dr. Yu Consulting and Investment GmbH since 2014. Dr. Yu is independent board of director of Sinochem International Ltd. and Corporate Advisor of Temasek.
Dr. Yu worked for Degussa AG from 1990, holding increasingly key positions within the company. In 2006, he transferred to Shanghai, China, as Regional President Greater China, Chairman Degussa (China) Co. Ltd. Between 2011-2013, Dr. Yu was appointed as the Member of the Executive Board, Evonik Industries AG.
Dr. Yu studied at Fudan and Tongji Universities. He moved to Germany in 1981 with a Scholarship of Minister of Education of China and studied chemistry at the University of Hamburg. In 1989 he received a doctorate degree by the University of Hamburg. He was awarded Feodor-Lynen Fellowship (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation) for Postdoc in Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientific (CNRS) in France.
