Shen has years of experience in environmental policy research, environmental big data applications, and exploration of public participation mechanisms in environmental governance. She is one of the main designers and managers of "Blue Map", China's largest non-governmental environmental data platform, and has contributed pioneering work to IPE's green supply chain and environmental information disclosure projects. In recent years, Shen mainly focused on water environment protection, circular economy, and energy transition.
